Privacy Policy

Resolution Med Tech Pty Ltd (ABN 55 671 812 409) (“RMT”, “we”) is committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it. The current version is always the one on this page.

Who we are

RMT is an Australian medical device design, manufacturing, regulatory and commercial services company based at 10 Resolution Drive, Unanderra NSW 2526. We also operate ResolveIQ, a patient outcomes follow-up platform used by surgeons and their practices.

What we collect through this website

If you contact us through the website form or by email we collect the details you provide (name, email, phone, organisation and your message) so that we can respond. Our website uses standard server logs and may use cookies for site function and analytics. We do not sell personal information.

What we collect through ResolveIQ

ResolveIQ collects personal information only from patients who have been enrolled in person at their surgical practice and have consented there. It collects identity and contact details (name, date of birth, mobile number, email), procedure details entered by the clinic, and the patient’s answers to outcome questionnaires. This is health information and sensitive information under the Privacy Act, and it is collected only with the patient’s consent and for the purposes explained at enrolment.

Why we collect it

ResolveIQ information is collected so that the treating surgeon can see how their own patients recover over time using standard measures, and, where the surgeon has chosen to contribute and the patient has consented, so that de-identified results can be pooled with other surgeons’ results. Pooled results never identify a patient or a surgeon.

How we contact ResolveIQ participants

Participants receive SMS and email messages from ResolveIQ containing links to questionnaires, with reminders where a questionnaire is still open. Messages never contain questionnaire answers or clinical information, and text messages never name the procedure. A participant can stop these messages at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, using the opt-out link in an email, or telling their clinic. Opting out is permanent; information already provided is handled according to the preference chosen at enrolment.

Where information is held

ResolveIQ data is stored in Australia, in Amazon Web Services’ Sydney region. Identity details are stored separately from questionnaire answers. Access is restricted to the treating surgical practice, to RMT staff who administer the service, and to no one else without consent or legal requirement. We do not disclose ResolveIQ patient records to overseas recipients.

Telephone enquiries to 1300 844 600 are answered by an Australian reception service. If a major outage affects that provider’s Australian operations, calls may be answered from its offices in the United Kingdom, the United States or New Zealand. Any personal information given during such a call may be handled in those countries.

Who we share it with

The patient’s own surgical practice; service providers who host and deliver the service under contract with RMT (cloud hosting and message delivery, both in Australia); and where required by law. Device manufacturers who sponsor a program only ever receive de-identified data and never a patient’s identity or contact details.

How long we keep it

ResolveIQ information is retained for the period stated in the participant information the patient received at enrolment, and otherwise as required by law. Website enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry.

Access, correction and withdrawal

You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you. A ResolveIQ participant may withdraw at any time without giving a reason; withdrawal does not affect their care. Requests: info@resolutionmedtech.com.au or 1300 844 600 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm AEST/AEDT), or in writing to 10 Resolution Drive, Unanderra NSW 2526.

Data breaches

If we become aware of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly and notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at the details above and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
